Hearts reach to the warmth and compassion,
of His heart, He has shown His way-
His anger will burn with passion,
still is always marked with delay.
His love is a fire consuming,
reaches through space and time;
with our fearful judgment looming,
He made Calvary’s final climb.
Keeps to His words and child,
chipping, sculpting while we fray-
tungsten faithfulness never mild,
to keep us to that day.
Though forgiveness His desire when He watches mankind,
justice will raise its voice, to sin never blind.
(Exodus 34:6-7, NIV- 6 And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, 7 maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.”)
